8 wheel lorry working on airport project

OUR STORY

Artic vehicle at Lakenheath Site

Our company was founded in 1988 by Mr Rory J Holbrook, starting with one man and one lorry, partnered with a passion for the industry.

Rory quickly developed an understanding of what customers desired; a quick hassle free service with a strong working relationship. Because of this, our customer base flourished, providing the opportunity for the business to grow into the success it is today.

By adding several more lorries to the fleet, Rory then saw the opportunity to fulfil larger contracts as well as the local aggregate deliveries which we had already been specialising in.

After the first successful resurfacing job we were added to the approved runway team, meaning we were nationally recognised as an established company in our field. This was the starting point for years of future growth and successful runway projects.

Fast forward 30 years and many successful airport jobs later, we have just finished our latest project, working alongside Colas. Based at RAF Coningsby, we have provided 10 articulated tippers for 3 consecutive months to assist in the laying of the new runway. With the huge success of this project we will shortly beginning work at RAF Lossiemouth.

Doosan DL450 at Lakenheath Since being founded in 1988, we have developed a large customer base all over the UK. With sites based around East Anglia, we have become one of the largest suppliers of Aggregate and muckaway in the county. In 2016 Rory opened railheads in Norwich and Brandon. Due to this operational expansion it allowed us to bring thousands of tonnes of various aggregates into the county by rail. Not only does this help us to supply the county, but it also helps to reduce the carbon footprint of our Company. Read more about our environmental policy here.

Later in 2016 a large remodel of RAF Marham began. With the recent addition of the Brandon railhead, material was brought down from quarries in the north and offloaded into the railhead. This material was then hauled from the railhead to fulfil the aggregate demand needed to complete the contract at RAF Marham.

In early 2019, after a successful 3 year working relationship with contractors on RAF Marham, we were approached to work at RAF Lakenheath and to supply materials to this project. With several years’ work to be completed on the base, thousands of tonnes of material will continue to be brought into site and hauled to the project.

In late 2019, Rory expanded the business further by opening a buzzing recycling centre located at Lakenheath. With the ideal location of this site, material is bought in from all over East Anglia and the Cambridgeshire area with ease. As well as tipping facilities, the recycling centre provides the infrastructure to deliver aggregates to the local public and companies all over the UK.

Over the 30 years of operation we have become one of the largest suppliers of aggregates across the UK. With a fleet in excess of 60 vehicles, ranging from 8 wheel tippers to articulated lorries, we aim to continue to demonstrate our strong working relationship and exceed customer needs across the entirety of the UK.
